HOME INVENTORY PAGE
The very best way to recover from a fire loss is to be prepared for one. A home owner who has a video, photo or written record of his belongings will recover 30- 60% more of his loss than a home owner who has not prepared. Try to imagine listing every item you own on a piece of paper without actually being in your home. The important thing is to record every item in your home no matter how small or unused. Typically, the smaller items will add up in cost to much more than the larger items a home owner can more readily remember.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT KEEP YOUR INVENTORY IN YOUR HOME
A PHOTO OR VIDEO INVENTORY
If you make a photo or video inventory the most important part is to get at least a partial image of everything you own. Digital cameras will make it easier and less expensive but film cameras will do just fine. More than one item can be in a scene or photo. The thing to remember is this is a record to jog your memory and help you make a complete list of belongings. Farmers Group wants to get you back where you belong but it can't compensate you for things you don't claim.
